“Your body has been sending you data your entire career. The question is: have you been listening?”

You’ve built something real. You’ve outworked, out-strategized, and out-willed most people in the room. And you’ve done it by trusting your mind, your plans, your metrics, and of course, your relentless drive.

But here’s what you might not know: you have an invisible second intelligence running beneath all of that. One that has been quietly tracking every overbooked calendar, every skipped lunch, every 11 pm decision made on empty. Logging data long before your nervous system sounded the alarm.

Somatic Intelligence

It’s called Somatic Intelligence, also known as Somatic Wisdom; the innate intelligence of your body. Sadly, most high performers have been trained by hustle culture, by identity, by the Inner Critic, to override it completely.

The Hustle Culture Taught You to Ignore Your Body

Hustle culture didn’t just shape how you work. It shaped your beliefs about rest, about limits, and about what it means to be serious about success.

The research is hard to ignore now:

  • Working 55+ hours a week raises your risk of stroke by 33% and heart attack by 13%: the body keeps the score before the calendar does.
  • 63% of entrepreneurs report hitting burnout at a severe level: not occasionally. Severely.

If those stats don’t get your attention, maybe this truth will.

Chronic Stress Linked to Autoimmune Disease

The body doesn’t lie; the data is alarming. Chronic stress, the fuel that hustle culture runs on, has been directly linked to autoimmune disease, inflammatory conditions, and pain disorders. Research shows autoimmune markers in the U.S. have risen nearly 50% in under 30 years, with chronic stress and sleep deprivation identified as key drivers.

When the nervous system never gets a break from fight-or-flight, the immune system eventually turns on itself.

Your immune system doesn’t grade on a curve.

The Law of Diminishing Returns

Perhaps the most humbling finding of all: Harvard Business Review concluded that overwork creates a story of diminishing returns, the more hours you push, the less output you actually produce.

You didn’t build what you’ve built by being reckless. But the same drive that got you here may be quietly working against you now.

Introducing Somatic Intelligence for High Performers

This topic is both a passion and a mission. I know this terrain personally; chronic stress left its mark on my body in ways I couldn’t ignore. And I made a decision: that journey would not be in vain. Whether you’re trying to avoid this pitfall altogether or you’re already in the pit looking for a way out, consider this your rope.

This April, we’re opening a conversation that most productivity programs skip entirely.

Somatic Intelligence is the tight chest before a bad decision. The gut resistance you overrode. The exhaustion you excused as just a busy season.

For the entrepreneur or executive whose Inner Critic has been running the show, this is the missing metric.

Your body isn’t slowing you down. It’s trying to keep you in the game.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll do something most productivity programs never attempt. I’m introducing my signature approach: Somatic Inner Critic Work. Combining Inner Critic work with Somatic Wisdom, because knowing what is driving you is only half the work. Learning to feel it in your body is where real change happens.

  • Neuro-somatic Intelligence: Learning to read what your body is actually signaling before your Inner Critic overrides it.
  • Tools: Practical somatic practices to make smarter, faster, more aligned decisions.
  • Integration: Building a business strategy that finally includes the most important variable; you.

Interoception

We start with the skill you’ve been missing: Interoception, your ability to perceive your body’s internal dashboard. Not as a wellness practice. A performance metric.

📝 This Week’s Challenge: The Maintenance Reflection

Before our first session, I want you to get curious, not critical, about your body’s signals. Just notice.

  • At three different points today, pause and ask: What is my body actually feeling right now? Tension? Ease? Fatigue? Aliveness?
  • Don’t judge the answer. Just name it. This is the beginning of body literacy.
  • Then take the Energy Audit below — it will give you a baseline picture of where you are right now across the four dimensions that actually fuel performance.

The most elite performers in the world aren’t the ones who push the hardest. They’re the ones who’ve learned to read their body’s data and respond to it.

That’s where we’re going. Let’s build that skill together.
