“What you tolerate, you cannot transform.”
The Silent Energy Thieves in Your Life
What’s draining your energy without you realizing it?
It’s January 2026, and while everyone is talking about making resolutions and setting goals, I want to ask you something different:
What are you tolerating that you need to stop putting up with?
Right now, as you read this, there are dozens of small and not-so-small things quietly stealing your energy:
- That cluttered drawer you keep opening.
- The friend who only calls to complain.
- The email you’ve been dreading for weeks.
- The job that feels like you’re swimming upstream every single day.
These are your tolerations, and they’re costing you more than you realize.
The Hidden Price You’re Paying
Here’s what most people don’t understand: tolerations don’t just waste your time. They act like a slow leak in your energy reserves, draining your vitality, creativity, and momentum.
Think of your energy like a phone battery. Every toleration is an app running in the background, quietly depleting your charge. By the end of the day, you wonder why you’re exhausted when you “didn’t really do that much.”
You did. You spent the day managing, avoiding, and mentally juggling all the things you’re putting up with.
The “Ugh” Feeling Is Your Alarm System
Pay attention this week to that subtle “ugh” feeling. It might be that tiny contraction in your chest or that slight heaviness on your shoulders. It happens when:
- You walk past that pile of papers… again.
- You say “yes” when… you really mean “no.”
- You apologize… when you’ve done nothing wrong.
- You think about that project..but you keep avoiding it.
Listen to your body, your feelings are messengers.
That “ugh” is your internal alarm system telling you: This is a toleration.
Your Challenge This Week
I want you to start a simple list. Title it: Things I’m Done Tolerating.
As you go through your week, whenever you feel that “ugh,” write it down. Don’t try to fix anything yet. Just notice. Just acknowledge.
Because here’s the truth: You can’t eliminate what you won’t admit you’re tolerating.
Most people are so accustomed to their tolerations that they’ve become background noise. This week, turn up the volume. Start hearing what’s been humming in the background of your life.
In my next email, I’ll show you exactly how to start eliminating these energy drains and why doing so will create more momentum than any new habit you could add.
For now, just know. The awareness alone will change something.
What’s one thing you know, right now, that you’re tolerating?
Rewire your thoughts, and you’ll rewire your reality.
To your energy and clarity,
Rita
P.S. – The most successful people don’t just manage their calendars. They manage their tolerations. They understand that freedom doesn’t come from doing more; it comes from tolerating less.
